Intellehub helps major SA bank strengthen software quality assurance using QMetry

Thato Moloto, Service Delivery Executive at Intellehub.
The project focused on deploying a cloud-based software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution that is scalable, easier to implement and cost-effective through a pay-as-you-use model. The platform also provides analytics capabilities to support DevOps teams with better visibility into testing performance and release readiness.
"The objective is to reduce manual testing effort while improving the quality and reliability of systems before they go live," said Thato Moloto, Service Delivery Executive at Intellehub. "By introducing a structured test management platform, the bank is able to identify issues earlier, improve traceability and reduce production risk."
Automation and integration at scale QMetry provides a centralised environment for managing test cases, executing automated testing and generating reporting dashboards. It also supports automation and API-based integrations, helping streamline testing across complex enterprise environments.
The platform enables closer alignment between testing, development and operations teams, supporting faster deployment cycles and improved software quality. Approximately 300 user licences have been procured across South Africa.
Managing change in a complex environment Beyond the technical rollout, one of the key challenges was securing buy-in for a new tool and new ways of working across teams. Additional complexity came from implementation teams operating across time zones, although the client's collaboration helped mitigate this.
To support adoption, Intellehub worked closely with the bank's product leadership on a structured change management programme that included: Continuous stakeholder engagement sessions Monthly governance meetings with the client and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) Super-user groups Train-the-trainer enablement models Demonstrations and ongoing user support The solution is fully outsourced, with service level agreements in place for support and maintenance, while Intellehub manages client relationships and business development.
Measurable business benefits Success has been measured through increased user adoption, improved deployment timelines and reduced bug counts. In large digital banking environments, where multiple channels and platforms must be tested continuously, automation is expected to accelerate test cycles significantly while improving code quality. Benefits already identified include: Faster turnaround times for test execution Reduced defects in production environments Cleaner, more reliable code Greater visibility through analytics and reporting On time, on budget, and positioned for growth The project was delivered on time and within budget and is now in the third year of the contract. Future plans include demonstration workshops for additional business units, with the aim of expanding adoption of the platform across the organisation.
"This is about building a sustainable quality assurance capability," Moloto said. "The goal is to create a consistent, scalable approach to testing that supports faster, more reliable delivery across the business."
